The Minister of Defense of Armenia suspended his business trip to Brussels and will return to Armenia immediately.

Aram Torosyan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, announced that Soren Papikyan, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, has suspended his business trip to Brussels and is returning to Armenia.

According to the report of Armenian Press, on April 10, the delegation led by Defense Minister Soren Papikyan left for Brussels for a business trip. On April 11, units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan fired at Armenian soldiers who were doing engineering work in the area of Tigh village. The Armenian side took retaliatory measures. As a result of the massive shooting, the Armenian side suffered 4 victims and 6 wounded, among the soldiers of the Republic of Azerbaijan there are also a number of victims and wounded.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan also announced in a statement that the conflicts caused by the provocative actions of Armenia continue and as a result of the necessary actions by our units, a lot of damage has been caused to the other side.

Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan both claim ownership of the Nagorno-Karabakh region. This claim eventually led to a bloody war between the two sides, and finally, Baku was able to significantly strengthen its position in the region by imposing an agreement on Yerevan. Although the two sides are not at war now, the occasional exchange of fire between the sides is accompanied by casualties.
